Facebook Group Rules
On the header and footer of our website you’ll see a link to our Facebook Group. This group was created as a way for the board to send out short updates, for owners to interact and engage with each other, and for common questions to be answered in a public setting. It is meant to be a tool that informs and engages everyone in our subdivision.
To make sure the group stays true to its goal of being an informative place to engage with neighbors and the board we have to set some boundaries on what’s expected and acceptable content. The following rules apply to our Facebook group effective immediately. These are in addition and supplemental to our existing group rules which can be found in the group itself:
Spam is not allowed. This includes but is not limited to chain posts or any post or comment that is posted multiple times in places where they are not relevant.
Harassment or bullying of any individual is not tolerated. Disagreement, criticism, and heated disputes will happen. These cross the line into harassment when things get aggressive, intimidating, or malicious. Do not get personal with people.
Rumors are not tolerated. If you have evidence of some wrongdoing then report it to the appropriate authority and be sure you bring evidence. You cannot complain about “cancel culture” while engaging in it yourself. To be clear, accusations without evidence are rumors.
Stay on topic. We are not here to bash the board, other neighbors, or anyone. We’re here to talk about our neighborhood, how to improve it, the issues facing us, and how to resolve them.
Anyone who violates these rules may have the content in question removed or be banned from the group. Group membership is a convenience and a privilege, not a right, as all critical information is sent via email, the postal service, or by phone call.
If you feel your constitutional rights have been violated by these rules then please contact the Supreme Court of the United States. But seriously, just be nice and be adults. We don’t like having to take the time to write these rules and remind everyone of them but unfortunately it just takes one bad faith actor to ruin things for everyone.
