Tree Trimming and Pruning
We know a lot of owners are concerned with trees brushing up against their houses and potentially causing damage.
We must and we will take care of this. It’s just a matter of who will do it, when, and for how much.
According to our arborist who has been working on saving the association’s diseased trees, this work should be done in late fall or winter (around February) to ensure all the leaves are gone and they can accurately see the growth pattern of the branches.
We are considering a tree trimming and pruning plan they proposed that would take care of both trimming branches and pruning trees so they ”learn” to grow in a way that will keep them from growing toward the buildings again in the future.
Our current landscaping company can do some tree trimming but they are not equipped to deal with branches above a certain height which is why we need to look for someone else.
The arborist we’re working with is one of the best in the business but we are not sure we can afford their services on our budget.
Our man, Jim, has been hard at work looking over snow plowing contracts and trying to negotiate a deal with a different snow removal company than the one we’ve been using for the last several years. Let’s be honest - the snow removal service we’ve been getting is not great so it would be nice to get someone new if possible.
If we’re able to replace our current snow removal contract with one from a company that’ll do a better job at a lower rate then that will free up the money needed to hire our arborist to begin work on their tree trimming and pruning plan.
If we are unable to secure a lower rate for plowing or find the money elsewhere we will still take care of any unit that is truly in danger of having their unit damaged by growing branches but we just aren’t sure what the details of that plan will be yet.
As always, questions are always welcome and we will keep you updated here and on our Facebook group. .
